Day 1: Home – Chautauqua, New York
Our exciting journey begins across New York State arriving at the luxurious Chautauqua Harbor Hotel located on the shores of Lake Chautauqua. Here we enjoy a 9-acre oasis with spectacular lake frontage and 4 star resort. After time to settle in, a delicious dinner awaits us at the hotel. (D)
Day 2: Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame – Dearborn. MI
After breakfast we head to the world-famous Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame on the shores of Lake Erie in Cleveland, Ohio. Located in a striking pyramid shaped building, we will stroll down memory lane with all the Rock n Roll favorites through the decades. This afternoon we arrive in Dearborn, Michigan, and our accommodations for two nights at the Best Western Greenfield Inn. This beautiful hotel combines Victorian architecture with Old World charm. Day 3: Henry Ford Museum- Greenfield Village
Today we take a step back in time with a visit to historic Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum. American history comes to life in Greenfield Village. Included in your admission is an all-day pass to ride in a Model T. Hop aboard the Weiser Railroad and the Hershell-Spillman Museum Carousel. Step inside the bus where Rosa Parks took a stand by taking a seat. See presidential limousines, including the 1961 Lincoln Continental that John F. Kennedy was riding on the day of his assassination. Travel through more than 50 years of flight innovation and much more.
Dinner is included at the prestigious Edsel and Eleanor Ford Estate. (B, D)
Day 4: Dearborn - Mackinac Island
After breakfast, we make our way to northern Michigan, arriving mid-afternoon in Mackinaw City. We board our ferry for the short ride to Mackinac Island. Our home for the next two evenings will be the gracious Island House, overlooking the Straits of Mackinac. (Horses, buggies and bicycles are the only transportation allowed on the Island!) This evening dinner is served at the hotel. (B, D)
Day 5: Mackinac Island
After breakfast, we are met by our horse-drawn carriage for a tour of such scenic and historic sites as Arch Rock and Surrey Hill. Midday we arrive at the magnificent Grand Hotel where an outstanding luncheon awaits us. The rest of your day is free to explore the island on your own. (B, L)
Day 6: Mackinac – Frankenmuth, MI
After breakfast, we board our ferry back to the mainland. We will make our way to the beautiful Bavarian Village of Frankenmuth, settled in 1845. Here we check into our comfortable accommodations at the Bavarian Inn Lodge. Enjoy the ambiance of this charming town with shop lined streets, School Haus Square, and the Glockenspiel Tower. Tonight, we are in store for a special treat—the world-famous chicken dinner at the Bavarian Inn Restaurant. (B, D)
Day 7: Chautauqua, New York
Today begins with breakfast before we bid farewell to Michigan and head back to the beautiful Chautauqua Harbor Hotel for our final overnight stay. Dinner is included and a final day to relax in this gorgeous resort setting. (B, D)
Day 8: Chautauqua – Home
This morning we enjoy breakfast amid our beautiful surroundings. We head home with wonderful memories of our Mackinac Island adventure. (B)
